I make things because creating is part of who I am. My mind is constantly moving, sketching ideas, imagining shapes, colours, and forms. To make sense of them, I need to bring them into the physical world.
Over the past few months, I’ve given myself permission to slow down and return to that instinct. Alongside rebuilding the website and refining how The Modern Stitch Studio shows up, I’ve also allowed space for making purely for the enjoyment of it. Returning to embroidery, and to other art forms too, not with an outcome in mind, but because creating is something I can’t not do.
This studio isn’t built around speed or volume. It’s built around intention.

Slow, thoughtful making
Everything I make for The Modern Stitch Studio is hand-embroidered, one piece at a time. Working slowly allows ideas to develop naturally and keeps the process grounded in care rather than output.
Small batches aren’t a marketing decision here, they’re a creative one. They give me room to imagine first, then experiment, respond to materials, and let a collection evolve rather than forcing it into a fixed shape too early.
Slowness protects the work. It keeps it true.

Made to be worn, not saved
I don’t believe beautiful things should live in drawers waiting for the right occasion.
The jewellery and everyday wearables I create are designed to become part of daily life. Pieces you reach for instinctively. Earrings you wear to the grocery store. Hats that get better the more they’re lived in.
When something is worn often, it gathers meaning. It becomes personal. That’s far more interesting to me than perfection.

Everyday art
At its core, this studio is about bringing art into everyday moments.
Story-led pieces, graphic collections, and casual wearables all sit side-by-side here. Different expressions of the same idea. That creativity doesn’t need to be precious to be meaningful.
Whether something is worn quietly or makes a statement, the intention behind it is the same. To create work that feels considered, expressive, and unmistakably individual.
Moving forward
This moment of pause and refinement has been an important one. It’s allowed me to make space for new ideas, new stories, and new ways of working.
If you’ve been following along for a while, thank you for being here. And if you’re new, welcome. The work continues, slowly and intentionally.
You can explore the collections anytime, and I hope you find something that feels like it belongs in your everyday ❤️
